Football Recap: Gatewood Piles Up the Points Against Heritage

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Gatewood had no problem doing just that on Friday. They claimed a resounding 47-13 win over the Heritage Hawks. The matchup marked the Gators' most dominant victory of the season.

Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyson Hamaker, who rushed for 101 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 62 receiving yards. Hamaker's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 101 rushing yards. Masen Biggs also helped out with an impressive 110 receiving yards.

The win snapped Gatewood's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-7 record. As for Heritage, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Looking ahead, Gatewood will take on Southwest Georgia Academy on Friday. Heritage does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
