Abbott dropped their record down to 14-10-1 on Thursday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Oglesby Tigers by a score of 1-0. The Panthers were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the seven contests prior), but the Tigers' pitchers proved too tough.

As for Oglesby, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 18-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games.

For Oglesby's part, not much got past Tucker Melton, who gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Abbott off the board. Melton has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jakson Tippit was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

As of now, neither Abbott nor Oglesby have any future games scheduled.
