Football Game Preview: Fort Recovery Indians vs. Anna Rockets

Fort Recovery hasn't had much luck against Anna recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Indians will face off against the Rockets at 7:00 p.m. Fort Recovery will be strutting in after a win while Anna will be coming in after a loss.

Fort Recovery will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up seven points last Friday, then bounced right back against Parkway on Friday. The Indians strolled past the Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 41-27. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Indians' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Panthers are ranked 495th).

Meanwhile, Anna fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Marion Local on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 28-27 to the Flyers. While the Rockets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Flyers 7-0 in the first quarter.

Fort Recovery has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.3 points over those games. As for Anna, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Fort Recovery was taken down by Anna 49-6 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
