The Nordonia Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Solon Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Nordonia is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

Nordonia is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against Firestone as they made off with a 23-3 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Knights as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Haylie Lambes tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Morgan Ritchie was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Nyce, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and four RBI.

Nordonia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .567. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2025.

Meanwhile, Solon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Twinsburg.

Solon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Gerhard, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Nordonia's record is now 7-15. As for Solon, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Nordonia has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Solon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Nordonia suffered a grim 14-8 defeat to Solon when the teams last played back in April. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
