Softball Recap: Woodstock Academy Find Success

Woodstock Academy proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 21) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Bacon Academy Bobcats 6-4. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Centaurs also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.

Grace Delsanto spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ellary Sampson, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Maci Corradi also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

The win got Woodstock Academy back to even at 4-4. As for Bacon Academy, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Woodstock Academy will host Norwich Free Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Centaurs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bacon Academy, they are taking a road trip to take on Waterford at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bobcats 3, the Lancers 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
