Recap: Salem Lions vs. Paoli Rams
The Salem Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 39-29 to Paoli. Salem lost against Paoli in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 53-33 score last time.
Paoli's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carley Higgins, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. The matchup was Higgins' seventh in a row with at least ten points. Jehrico Hopper was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 7 rebounds.
Salem bumped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Paoli, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.
Salem will be playing at home against Brownstown Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brownstown Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Salem in Indiana (Brownstown Central is ranked 91st, while Salem is ranked 286th). As for Paoli, they will head out on the road to face off against Lanesville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
