Basketball Game Preview: Maine West Warriors vs. Elk Grove Grenadiers

The Maine West Warriors will challenge the Elk Grove Grenadiers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Maine West turned things around against Streamwood on Saturday. They blew past the Sabres 73-43. That looming 73-43 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.

Meanwhile, Elk Grove scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 79-74 hit to the loss column at the hands of Leyden. The Grenadiers haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Maine West's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Elk Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.

Maine West ended up a good deal behind Elk Grove when the teams last played back in November of 2023, losing 57-39. Can Maine West avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
