Recap: Eno River Bobcats vs. Roxboro Community Bulldogs
The Eno River Bobcats were the 38-32 winner over the Roxboro Community Bulldogs when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Eno River took a 41-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Roxboro Community on Thursday.
Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Leiden Schofield, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals. Sadie Olson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Roxboro Community was led to victory by Karrie Obie and Katherine-kaey "katie" Mann. Obie dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Mann scored 16 points along with three steals. Mann is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylyn Pope, who scored four points.
Eno River's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Roxboro Community, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eno River will take on Henderson Collegiate at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Roxboro Community won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Oxford Prep at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th.
