Scott County faced Sayre in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Cardinals came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 6-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-3 last Tuesday.

The team relied heavily on Garrett Sparks, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Will Rose, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Scott County and bumps their season record up to 24-10. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Sayre, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 19-10 record.

As of now, neither Scott County nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
