Baseball Recap: Valley Stream Central's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Valley Stream Central won against Elmont Memorial last Wednesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Eagles blew past the Roosevelt Roughriders 11-1. Considering the Eagles have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Xavier Mason looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Adam Norton was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Ariel Cabral was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

The victory keeps Valley Stream Central at an undefeated 5-0-1.

They will have a chance to go back-to-back against Roosevelt: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
