Basketball Recap: Aquinas Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Clarkson/Leigh came into Tuesday's game looking for another win against Aquinas, but Riley Campbell wouldn't allow it. The Aquinas Monarchs walked away with a 45-37 victory over the Clarkson/Leigh Patriots on Tuesday thanks in part to Campbell, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 13 points and three steals. Campbell is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

When it comes to explaining why Clarkson/Leigh lost, don't look at Brynn Settje. Despite the final result, she posted ten points along with eight boards and three steals. That's the most boards Settje has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylee Settje, who had nine points and eight rebounds.

Aquinas has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.2 points per game. As for Clarkson/Leigh, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Aquinas will face off against Pierce at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pierce will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Aquinas surely won't give up without a fight. As for Clarkson/Leigh, they will welcome North Bend Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clarkson/Leigh is facing North Bend Central at the right time seeing as North Bend Central is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
