Homestead hasn't had much luck against Carroll recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Spartans will head out on the road to challenge the Chargers at 7:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
On Tuesday, Homestead made easy work of Fort Wayne Northrop and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Homestead was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-12, 25-15.

Homestead relied on the efforts of Avary Heady, who had three digs and two aces, and BreeAnne Polston, who had four digs and two aces. That's the most digs Heady has posted over her last three contests. Lydia Bashford also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
If NorthWood wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Carroll, they should've done a better job of containing Cala Haffner. The Chargers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Panthers on Tuesday for which the team can thank Haffner, who had 12 digs and one assist. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last seven games she's played.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Carroll took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-10, 25-15.
Homestead's record is now 17-7. As for Carroll, their record now sits at 24-0.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's matchup: Homestead hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 4.2 blocks per game. It's a different story for Carroll, though, as they've been averaging only 1.6 blocks. Given Homestead's sizable advantage in that area, the Chargers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Homestead suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Carroll in their previous meeting back in August. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Haffner, who had 14 digs and three aces. Now that the Spartans know the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
