Stover comes up short despite Ashlyn Pinzke's dominant performance

Recap: Stover Bulldogs vs. Northwest Mustangs

The Stover Bulldogs were the 51-45 winner over the Northwest Mustangs when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Stover fell 59-47 to Northwest on Friday. While losing is never fun, Stover can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while Northwest is ranked 54th).

When it comes to explaining why Stover lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ashlyn Pinzke. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Pinzke has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Hannah Bauer was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.

Stover's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-6. As for Northwest, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stover won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Crocker at 12:00 p.m. on January 13th. Crocker is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games. As for Northwest, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Tipton at 6:00 p.m.
