Basketball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Clay County's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Clay County hadn't done well against South Laurel recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Clay County Tigers snuck past the South Laurel Cardinals with a 63-58 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tigers needed considering they were shutout in their previous matchup.

Clay County has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3-1 record this season. As for South Laurel, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clay County will challenge Pulaski County at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Laurel has already played their next contest (against Williamsburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
