South and Mira Monte are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Spartans will venture away from home to face off against the Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mira Monte took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on South, who comes in off a win.

South had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Woodlake on Wednesday. The Spartans blew past the Tigers 10-0. Considering the Spartans have won six games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Mira Monte lost 11-1 to Caruthers on Wednesday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mira Monte saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cristian Villalpando, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Villalpando's first of the season.

Mira Monte's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for South, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

South beat Mira Monte 7-4 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
