Preview: Manteca Buffaloes vs. Antelope Titans
The Manteca Buffaloes will be playing at home against the Antelope Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After a string of six wins, Manteca's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell to Central Catholic 57-51. The defeat was just more heartbreak for Manteca who fell 47-45 when the teams previously met back in February of 2023.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Peyton Nieman, who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Evani Gaeta, who scored ten points along with seven assists.
Meanwhile, Antelope pushed their score all the way to 66 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Inderkum. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Antelope in their matchups with Inderkum: they've now lost six in a row.
Like Antelope, they lost despite seeing results from several players. Daunte Martin led the charge by scoring 12 points along with five assists and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Melton, who scored 13 points.
Manteca's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-9. As for Antelope, their loss dropped their record down to 14-14.
