Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Northview walked away with it. They came out on top against the Southview Cougars by a score of 6-3 on Wednesday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Kaitlyn Eckel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brooklynn Reinbolt, who fired off two home runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Brynn Mitchell, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Northview's win bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Southview, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-20.

Coming up, Northview will face off against Clay at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Southview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
