Softball Game Preview: Dutchtown Griffins vs. French Settlement Lions

The Dutchtown Griffins will square off against the French Settlement Lions at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dutchtown is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.

On Tuesday, Dutchtown got the win against East Ascension by a conclusive 14-1. The result was nothing new for the Griffins, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, French Settlement unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 15-5 to Live Oak. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lions have suffered since March 21st.

French Settlement saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Acosta, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Dutchtown pushed their record up to 15-9 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for French Settlement, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-10.
