The Manchester Squires will challenge the Bremen Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Manchester is headed out to face Bremen after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Manchester was the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over New Haven on Tuesday. The Squires not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 25, 2024.
Ava Sautter was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Hadley West was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Manchester was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Haven only posted a batting average of .111.
Meanwhile, Bremen had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over Central Noble.
Chrissy Grabowski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the fewest earned runs she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
