Softball Game Preview: West Memphis Blue Devils vs. Paragould Rams

West Memphis hasn't had much luck against Paragould recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rams at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

West Memphis managed to slip by Nettleton the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Blue Devils lost 14-3 to the Raiders on Wednesday.

Mackenzie Halford and Margo Killingsworth stepped up to the plate in a big way. Halford went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Killingsworth went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sofia Davis, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Paragould's offense. They came up short against Vilonia on Friday, falling 15-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Rams were not able to get on the board.

Paragould's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for West Memphis, their loss dropped their record down to 7-18.

West Memphis suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Paragould in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
