Football Recap: Brendon Hardimon's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Olympia over Greenville

Olympia and Greenville squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Olympia had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Comets by a score of 35-32. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Comets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Olympia lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brendon Hardimon, who rushed for 130 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 59 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Kolin Simpson also helped out as he racked up 108 rushing yards.

The defeat snapped Olympia's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-4 record. As for Greenville, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Olympia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greenville, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-21 loss against Vandalia on the 8th.
