Football Game Preview: Acalanes Dons vs. Las Lomas Knights + Official Tickets

The Acalanes Dons are taking a road trip to challenge the Las Lomas Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Acalanes has nine straight wins, Las Lomas has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Acalanes gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't give up any more after. They took down Clayton Valley Charter 31-14. That's two games straight that the Dons have won by exactly 17 points.

Acalanes' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Winkles, who threw for 208 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 30 yards and one score. 131 of Winkles' passing yards were hauled in by Finley Rivera, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Acalanes was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 212 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 194 rushing yards in six consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Las Lomas ended up a good deal behind Campolindo on Friday and lost 21-7. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 388th, while the Cougars are ranked 161st).

Acalanes' record now sits at 9-0. As for Las Lomas, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Acalanes came up short against Las Lomas when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 21-14. Can the Dons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
