Baseball Game Preview: Wyoming Cowboys vs. Reading Blue Devils

The Wyoming Cowboys will head out to face off against the Reading Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Wyoming's last matchup with Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Saturday. The Cowboys lost 8-1 to the Eagles. The defeat continues a trend for the Cowboys in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Reading was able to grind out a solid victory over Seven Hills on Saturday, taking the game 7-4.

JT Disbennett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on 12 hits. He also scored two runs, which is notable because Reading is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-14 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Carter Reed was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Reading's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 4-14 when he doesn't).

Reading was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Reading's record is now 7-14. As for Wyoming, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Everything went Wyoming's way against Reading in their previous matchup last Saturday, as Wyoming made off with a 6-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cowboys since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
