Preview: Meyersdale Red Raiders vs. Northern Huskies
Meyersdale is 0-5 against Northern since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Meyersdale Red Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Northern Huskies at 7:30 p.m. Meyersdale is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
Meyersdale suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2023 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 70-37 loss at the hands of Berlin Brothersvalley. While losing is never fun, Meyersdale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 712th, while Berlin Brothersvalley is ranked 66th).
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 84-41, which was the final score in Northern's tilt against Fort Hill on Tuesday. Northern has not had much luck with Fort Hill recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Meyersdale's defeat was their 13th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Northern, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Meyersdale was dealt a bruising 72-35 loss at the hands of Northern when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Meyersdale avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
