Basketball Game Preview: Burke County Bears vs. East Jackson Eagles + Official Tickets

The Burke County Bears will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the East Jackson Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. East Jackson took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Burke County, who comes in off a win.

Burke County is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Denmark-Olar. The Bears strolled past the Vikings with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 68-53.

Burke County found their leader in sophomore De'Quayvian Lovette, who shot 47% from the field en route to 20 points along with eight boards and four steals. Lovette's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylen Bellamy, who posted eight points.

Burke County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, East Jackson lost 68-45 to Commerce on Tuesday.
