Football Recap: Sandwich Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After soaring to 48 points the game before, Sandwich was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They were outmatched by the Richmond-Burton Rockets and fell 42-12. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 287th, while the Rockets are ranked 61st).

When it comes to explaining why Sandwich lost, don't look at Nick Michalek. Despite the final result, he rushed for 228 yards and one score while picking up 9.9 yards per carry.

Sandwich's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Richmond-Burton, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Meanwhile, Richmond-Burton is set to square off against their familiar foe Woodstock North at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Rockets 11, the Thunder 13.7) so any points scored will be well earned.
