Baseball Game Preview: First Academy Eagles vs. Altamonte Christian Eagles

We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around on Monday.

First Academy is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 18 runs two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Geneva last Monday. They came up short against the Knights, falling 8-1. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Cason Cherry was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Altamonte Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 10-0 to Oasis Christian.

First Academy moved to 5-1 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.2 runs. As for Altamonte Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

First Academy took their win against Altamonte Christian in their previous matchup back in February by a conclusive 18-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for First Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
