Softball Recap: Vardaman Comes Up Short

Vardaman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 12-8 to the Bruce Trojans. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 9-7.

Tessa Hood was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Lyla Chandler was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Vardaman's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Bruce, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-9.

Coincidentally, Vardaman and Bruce will both be playing Calhoun City the next time they take the field. The Trojans will head out to face the Wildcats at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Rams will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
