Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Rowan County

Rowan County put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Lewis County Lions with a sharp 17-4 win. The Vikings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Tyler Crisp was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Crisp was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other pitching news, Abram Norden looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

Back at the plate, Mason Havens was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Havens is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Grant Rose, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Rowan County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Rowan County's record is now 3-0. As for Lewis County, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Rowan County has already played their next contest, a 5-0 victory against Powell County on the 22nd. As for Lewis County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 14-1 loss against Fleming County on the 21st.
