Baseball Recap: Ingomar Comes Up Short

Ingomar lost to Smithville on Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Falcons fell just short of the Seminoles by a score of 9-8. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ingomar got a big performance out of Marshall Paepke, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Reece White also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Ingomar's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Smithville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8.

Coming up, Ingomar will face off against Walnut at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.8 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Smithville, they will take on New Site at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Seminoles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Royals have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
