Southern Choctaw takes down Choctaw County in a playoff battle

Recap: Southern Choctaw Indians vs. Choctaw County Tigers

The Southern Choctaw Indians had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on Choctaw County with a sharp 69-43 victory on Thursday. Southern Choctaw has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 24 points or more this season.

Choctaw County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jerome Blanks Jr., who scored 21 points along with two steals. Tyshawn Carlisle was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

Southern Choctaw pushed their record up to 14-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.1 points per game. As for Choctaw County, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Southern Choctaw does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Choctaw County also has no future games currently scheduled.
