Softball Recap: Saltillo Find Success

Saltillo's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against Lake Cormorant by a score of 5-2. The Tigers haven't had any issues with Lake Cormorant recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Avery Little spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Addie Kesler was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Cella Dye, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

The victory got Saltillo back to even at 8-8-1. As for Lake Cormorant, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saltillo will host Mooreville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lake Cormorant, they will challenge Olive Branch at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lake Cormorant are facing the Conquistadors at the right time seeing as the Conquistadors are stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
