Southern Wells is 2-8 against South Adams since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Raiders will host the Starfires at 5:00 p.m. Southern Wells is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

Southern Wells was handed a 13-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Randolph Southern 5-4. The win was some much needed relief for the Raiders as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Trey Slusher was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Landon Johnson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, South Adams was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against Jay County, falling 11-0. Starfires fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Patriots since on Tuesday.

Southern Wells' victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for South Adams, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

South Adams' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Southern Wells has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .434. It's a different story for South Adams, though, as they've only averaged .343. Will they be able to contain Southern Wells' hitters?

Southern Wells beat South Adams 8-5 in their previous matchup back in April. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Starfires have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
