Basketball Recap: Wickliffe Comes Up Short

If Wickliffe was riding high fresh off their 68-31 takedown of Northeast Ohio College Prep last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wickliffe Blue Devils took a 69-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Independence Blue Devils on Saturday. Wickliffe hasn't had much luck with Independence recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Wickliffe now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Independence, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wickliffe and Berkshire will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Independence, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Smithville at 3:15 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
