Baseball Game Preview: Lindblom Eagles vs. Thornton Fractional South Red Wolves

The Lindblom Eagles will take on the Thornton Fractional South Red Wolves at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Lindblom has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with nine straight losses, while Thornton Fractional South will come in with three straight wins.

Lindblom lost 11-4 to Kennedy on Saturday.

Lindblom saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Terrance Washington, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Another was Jordan Terrell, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Thornton Fractional South came out on top against Blue Island Eisenhower on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run second inning. The Red Wolves put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 11-2 victory.

Thornton Fractional South got a massive performance out of Blake Sims, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Sims has become a key player for the Red Wolves: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 9-18-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Marnell, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Thornton Fractional South pushed their record up to 12-18-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lindblom, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.
