Football Game Preview: Helena Bengals vs. Big Sky Eagles + Official Tickets

The Helena Bengals will venture away from home to square off against the Big Sky Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither Helena nor Big Sky posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Helena's offense might be in the hot seat on Thursday considering what happened against Glacier on Friday. They were outmatched by the Wolfpack and fell 35-0. While losing is never fun, the Bengals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana football rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Wolfpack are ranked second).

Even if they lost, Helena's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Peyton Lorenz, Rhett Neal, and Seth Kiser, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Meanwhile, Big Sky is still undefeated this season after their contest against Sentinel on Friday, but Sentinel came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Spartans, sneaking past 12-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since October 25, 2024.

Big Sky's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Helena, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-3 record.

Helena and Big Sky were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in October of 2024, but Helena came up empty-handed after a 35-34 loss. Can the Bengals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
