Basketball Recap: Orcas Island Comes Up Short

Orcas Island lost against Friday Harbor back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Orcas Island Vikings were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to the Friday Harbor Wolverines. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pierce Kleine was his usual excellent self, putting up 29 points for Friday Harbor. The match was Kleine's 16th in a row with at least ten points.

Orcas Island's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Friday Harbor, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-11.

Orcas Island has already played their next contest, a 63-29 defeat against Lummi on the 18th. As for Friday Harbor, they will challenge La Conner at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Friday Harbor is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season.
