Recap: Victoria East Titans vs. Carroll Tigers
The Victoria East Titans won the last time they faced the Carroll Tigers, and things went their way on Friday too. Victoria East enjoyed a cozy 62-44 win over Carroll. Given Victoria East's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while Carroll is ranked 898th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Victoria East to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kk Cleveland, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. Cleveland has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Kamryn Jackson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 10 rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Victoria East and bumps their season record up to 12-6. As for Carroll, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Victoria East will take on Corpus Christi Moody at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Corpus Christi Moody focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 36 on Tuesday. As for Carroll, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ray at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Ray is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
