Volleyball Game Preview: South Central Satellites vs. Hammond Central Wolves

The South Central Satellites are taking a road trip to square off against the Hammond Central Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

South Central is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Boone Grove just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves. While the Satellites didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wolves 25-21 in the first set.

South Central started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Hammond Central lost 3-0 to Washington Township on Tuesday.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-13, 25-4.

South Central's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Hammond Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

South Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Hammond Central in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Satellites since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
