Basketball Recap: Flint River Academy Takes a Loss

Flint River Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Windsor Academy Knights, falling 56-18. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 72-31 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February.

Flint River Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Mason Jones and Cole Riner. Jones posted 12 points and seven rebounds, while Riner had four points and six boards. Thanks to that strong game, Jones now owns an excellent 42.9% three-point shooting accuracy.

Flint River Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Windsor Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Flint River Academy will challenge Twiggs Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 75 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Windsor Academy, they will take on Central Georgia Arts at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
