Macksville has gone a perfect 10-0 against Kinsley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Macksville Mustangs will square off against the Kinsley Coyotes at 7:30 p.m. Macksville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Friday, Macksville came up short against Victoria and fell 77-69. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (64), the Mustangs still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Macksville got top-tier performance from Diego Esparza, who went 11 for 21 en route to 30 points and six steals. That was a full 43.5% of Macksville's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hector Gomez, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Macksville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Kinsley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 63-41 to Spearville. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 320th, while the Lancers are ranked 113th).

Macksville's record is now 12-4. As for Kinsley, their record is now 2-13.

Everything came up roses for Macksville against Kinsley when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 62-33 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Macksville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
