Recap: Fort Calhoun Pioneers vs. Yutan Chieftains
The Fort Calhoun Pioneers lost to the Yutan Chieftains back in December of 2022, but the Fort Calhoun Pioneers didn't allow the Yutan Chieftains the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Fort Calhoun walked away with a 45-37 victory over Yutan.
Grayson Bouwman was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with four steals. The match was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Colby Bentley was another key contributor, scoring five points along with eight rebounds.
Fort Calhoun's win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Yutan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Calhoun will be home for the holidays to greet Bancroft-Rosalie at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Yutan will be home for the holidays to greet Conestoga at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Conestoga will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
