Soccer Game Preview: East vs. Derby

The East Aces will square off against the Derby Panthers on Thursday. East will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, East made easy work of Heights and carried off a 6-1 win. Given East's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas soccer rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Heights are ranked 77th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Derby's offense. They fell just short of Dodge City by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. Derby have struggled against Dodge City recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

East's victory bumped their record up to 7-4-1. As for Derby, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

East came out on top in a nail-biter against Derby in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Aces have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
