Basketball Recap: Madison Takes a Loss

Madison lost against Hazel Park back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Madison Eagles took a blow against the Hazel Park Vikings, falling 59-26. The Eagles were down 45-17 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Harmony Hays was a one-woman wrecking crew for Hazel Park as she dropped a double-double on 25 points and 15 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Tangela Charleston, who posted 23 points and seven boards.

Madison's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-9. More troubling are the teams that make up that slump in performance: Hazel Park, Eastpointe, and New Haven. As for Hazel Park, the victory snapped their losing streak at nine games and leaves them with a 2-10 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison will take on New Haven at 5:30 p.m. on February 5th. Hazel Park has already played their next game (against Eastpointe), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
