The Parkland Matadors will venture away from home to take on the Americas Trail Blazers at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Parkland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Parkland is headed into the match having just posted their closest win since February 27th on Friday. They skirted past El Dorado 4-3.

Samantha Martinez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Faith Avila, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Lyric Batie was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Americas won against Bel Air on Tuesday with 17 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Americas beat Horizon by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 17-2. The result was nothing new for the Trail Blazers, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Odalys Solis was excellent, scoring three runs while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Suri Flores, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Americas hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive contests.
Parkland has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. The win got Americas back to even at 13-13.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Parkland hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .415. However, it's not like Americas struggles in that department as they've averaged .346. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Parkland suffered a grim 10-4 defeat to Americas in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Parkland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
