Football Game Preview: Lyman Raiders vs. Wall Eagles

Lyman is 1-9 against Wall since September of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Raiders will host the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Lyman is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Dakota's top teams: Philip, who was ranked seventh at the time (Lyman was ranked 23rd). The Raiders fell 48-44 to the Scotties on Friday.

Meanwhile, Wall strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They didn't even let Bennett County on the board, marking the Eagles' second-straight 50-0 shutout. Fans of the Eagles have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Lyman's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Wall, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.

Lyman took a serious blow against Wall in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 60-6. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Eagles' Tanner Volmer, who rushed for 125 yards and three scores on only six carries, and also threw for 165 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. Now that the Raiders know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
