Mineral Ridge fell victim to Champion and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Golden Flashes by a score of 1-0. The defeat continues a trend for Mineral Ridge in their meetings with Champion: they've now lost eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Lordstown's game on Thursday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They beat Pymatuning Valley by a goal, winning 2-1. Lordstown wouldn't have won without Colton Hickman, who scored the game-winner.

Mineral Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 8-2-1. As for Lordstown, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7-2.

Mineral Ridge beat Lordstown 2-0 when the teams last played back in September of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
