Football Game Preview: Jewell vs. Eddyville

Jewell are packing up and heading on the road for their first away contest this season. They face off against Eddyville on Friday at 4:30 PM. Jewell don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.

Their game three weeks ago wasn't at all kind to Jewell, but their most recent game may have softened the blow. They were fully in charge last Friday, breezing past Triangle Lake 44-7. Jewell were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 18-65, which was the final score in Eddyville's tilt against Gilchrist. This makes it the second defeat in a row for Eddyville.

Jewell's victory lifted them to 1-2 while Eddyville's loss dropped them down to 1-3. We'll see if Jewell's success rolls on or if Eddyville are able to steal their positive momentum.
