Baseball Game Preview: Slidell Tigers vs. Pearl River Rebels

The Slidell Tigers will challenge the Pearl River Rebels at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Slidell: 3.7, Pearl River: 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Slidell is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since March 7, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against Pearl River, falling 8-2.

Slidell got a good showing from Tyler Rushing, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Rushing has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Charles Burdett and Brayden Calamari did some serious damage despite the final result: Burdett scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Calamari went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Pearl River pushed their record up to 3-4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.3 runs. As for Slidell, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
