Baseball Game Preview: Pisgah Dragons vs. Taylorsville Tartars

The Pisgah Dragons will challenge the Taylorsville Tartars at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pisgah is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

On Friday, Pisgah got the win against Sebastopol by a conclusive 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Taylorsville's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 9-5 to Seminary.

Taylorsville got a good showing from Landyn Booth, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Booth has become a key player for the Tartars: the team is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-8 otherwise.

At the plate, Trey Barnes made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Taylorsville's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 5-9 when he doesn't).

Pisgah pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Taylorsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.
